One Hundred Years of Solitude is a beautiful and iconic literary work by Gabriel García Márquez. Hopefully, one day his masterpiece will be adapted into film. I created a title sequence meant to capture the feeling of the novel by using imagery representing a family isolated by time. I designed the typography and animated each letter using traditional hand drawn 2D animation. I utilized the time remapping tool in After Effects to play with timing and transition. The piece was originally rendered in 4K so not to lose the painted detail in the letters.
